Owerri — The visit of President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua to Imo State over the weekend to commission the State Government rural roads revolutionary concept tagged "Imo State Rural Road Maintenance Agency" has thrown the party into a deep crisis.
The President, who was represented by Vice President Goodluck Jonathan, was left in the dark by members of his party while PPA member had a field day.
Although the State Chairman of the party in the State, Chief Marcon Nlemeigbo, and few other members of his executive were sighted, prominent leaders of the party shunned the event.
In a telephone interview with LEADERSHIP, Chief Nlemeigbo said the appeal case between Ohakim and PDP has nothing to do with the development of the State. He explained that issues as the affect the State especially in development is paramount to that of individuals.
Nlemeigbo added that Ohakim is still the governor of Imo State and should be given every necessary support.
But Sen Ararume's group described Ohakims's Government as one that thrives on deceit. The Chairman of Publicity Committee of Destiny Organisation, the campaign organization of Sen. Ifeanyi Ararume, PDP candidate in last April Governorship election, Dr. James Okoroma told LEADERSHIP that "we are loyal to the president and commander-in-chief of our great country. Our principal Sen. Ararume was the one that worked for the 100% victory recorded by president in Imo State during the presidential election."
