Kigali — Pentecostal Christians Sunday in Kigali took to the streets protesting against the November 9 arrest of the Director of State Protocol, Rose Kabuye, in Germany.
Under the umbrella of The New United Pentecostal Churches Forum (NUPCF), the protesters marched through Kigali streets to the German embassy in Kiyovu demanding for the immediate release of Kabuye.
"We are here to vent out our anger because Rose is an innocent person. The principle of international jurisdiction should not apply to only Africans," a protestor said.
Pastor Charles Rwandamura, the chairman of NUPCF asked all law abiding people in Africa to stand up and challenge the machinations of Jean-Louis Bruguière.
Meanwhile other demonstrations against Rose Kabuye's arrest are expected to be carried out at different German Embassies in Europe.
Some of the confirmed protests are expected to take place in the United Kingdom and in Sweden where Rwandans living in those countries and their friends have finalised preparations.
The UK based Rwandese Community Association, (RCA), will today, demonstrate at the German Embassy located in London, Chesham Place, 23 Belgravia Square.
"If someone arrests your leader, then he wants you," Rwandamura added.
Pastor John Poda Bihashya of Christian Worship Ministry in Kanombe said that Rwandans should not be bullied around.
"This is a sovereign state and our leaders must be respected. People should not apply the law selectively," Bihashya said.
