17 November 2008

Kampala — STANBIC Bank has confirmed an entry of 584 runners in the MTN Kampala International Marathon race, as bankers continue seeking a maiden corporate title, having failed to win it in the first four editions.

The bank yesterday handed over a cheque of sh4.8m to MTN corporate affairs manager Halima Besisira for four teams and over 500 competitors for the 10km race.

Dfcu Bank has ten teams for the corporate event. Standard Chartered and Citi Bank are the other banks with teams in the event.

A cash prize of sh1.5m, donated to a charity of the winner's choice, comes with the winners' trophy.
