Nigeria: Loot - Court Awards N10,000 Fine Against Dariye

Jos — The absence of the Attorney General of the Federation, Mr. Michael Aondoakaa, in the federal high court in Jos, Plateau state yesterday, stalled proceedings in the suit filed by the State Government against his office in connection with former governor Joshua Dariye's alleged looted funds.

The government through the former Commissioner of Justice under the Dariye administration, Mr. Yusufu Pam, obtained the leave of the court to file an order of mandamus to compel the Attorney General of the Federation to respond to all the inquiries relating to all the monies said to have been recovered from criminal proceedings in the United Kingdom against the former Governor of the state, Chief Dariye and his associates..
