Luanda — Angolan head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos, Monday in Luanda received in audience the outgoing Vietnamese ambassador to Angola, Nguyen Dinh, who expressed his country's interest to have cooperation between the two countries reinforced.
The diplomat told journalists at the end of the audience that the cooperation should mainly focus on the sectors of education, health, trade, oil industry, agriculture and civil construction.
Vietnam, one of the world's main producers of rice, wants to implement the production of the crop in Angola's eastern Moxico and Lunda Norte provinces, according to the diplomat.
He said Angola has a huge potential to expand the production of rice which, he added, might contribute a lot to reduce poverty and famine in the country.
He said the two countries could also cooperate in the agriculture of cashew nut and coffee.
Nguyen Dinh is leaving Angola at the end of a three-year mission. "I am sorry for this as it will not be possible to continue following up the successes that have been scored in the national reconstruction of this country," he said after bidding farewell to Angolan head of State.
