Angola: Jordan Official Happy With Relations

17 November 2008

Amman — The head of the Protocol Department of the Jordanian Foreign Ministry, Faris Al-Qatarneh, Sunday in Amman considered as excellent the bilateral relations between his country and Angola.

Speaking to Angolan journalists, Faris Qatarneh, said that his country is interested in cooperating with Angola in various spheres, with stress to education. "Education is the key sector for the development of any country or nation," said Faris Qatarneh, adding that "with the lasting peace that Angola is enjoying and the holding of legislative elections, the country should be seriously committed to staff training for its development."

He also pledged his country's willingness to contribute to Angola's reconstruction process.

According to him, other sectors deserving cooperation are those of health, oil, family assistance and strengthening of political ties.

He also stated that the Kingdom of Jordan will work hard for the two Governments to sign various documents in future, aiming at the strengthening of economic relations between the two states.

Faris Al Qatarneh spoke of the need for the two countries to design strategies of cooperation, permanent contact and exchange of experience.

The visit paid to Jordan by Angolan first lady, Ana Paula dos Santos, re-opened the doors for the re-launch of bilateral relations between the two countries, explained the official, who called for the opening of an Angolan diplomatic mission in Amman.
