Lagos — The Sokoto State Women and Child Development Commissioner, Hajiya Kuluwa Nuhu, has said the state government had released N10 Million to Women Fund for Economic Empowerment.

According to her, individual states are expected to contribute to the fund to complement the federal government's contribution.

She also said that the federal and state governments had entered into partnership on the establishment of a rice mill in Wurno.

She said that the project was an initiative of the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs, but allocated to Sokoto as a pilot scheme, adding that the state government had already released a parcel of land for it.

She said that when completed, the project would contribute to the economic development of the area and the state in general.
