Luanda — Angolan Government Monday in Luanda analysed with its social partners the performance, in the first eight months this year, of the country's economy that recorded a "strong drive" estimated at 9,9 percent and the exercise of the State Budget in the first emester.
The information is contained in a final communique from the National Council for Social Concert, chaired by the prime minister, AntÃ'nio Paulo Kassoma.
According to the source, at the meeting, representatives of trade unions, business and professional associations were informed about the guidelines of the Government National Plan, State Budget for 2009 and the principles that ruled the drafting of the customs tariffs.
The social partners of the Government were also informed about the main goals and priorities that have to do with food security, improved quality and amount of drinking water, intensification of literacy, fight against the great endemics and creation of jobs.
The Social Concert Council also analysed the report from the technical group for the study of the evolution of the national minimum salary and recognised the need to continue with the policies and measures aimed at gradually improving it, taking into account relevant economic and social factors.
The Government also let its social partners to learn about the situation of the Luanda and Lobito ports.
The note states that the Government took a good notice of the opinions, suggestions and concerns raised by the social partners towards strengthening the functioning of the country's economy and pledged to do its best to promote the harmonious development of the national territory.
