Ghana: Agogo Denies Obscene Gesture Charge

18 November 2008

Junior Agogo says reports that he made obscene gestures at opposition fans during an Egyptian League game on Friday are wide off the mark.

The Black Stars forward reportedly gestured impolitely towards opposition fans and even though the referee is said not to have reported the incidents there were suggestion Agogo could face trial by video and a punishment handed out.

But the 29-year old told KickOffGhana.com if that indeed a committee decides to review tapes of the game, they will find nothing to charge him on.

"They will realise if they watch they watch the video that I was merely joking with my teammates and we were having a laugh. I don't know where I made an obscene gesture to the fans."

Agogo has not made the impact Zamalek expected when they splashed out on him but he insists he will not allow any frustration to boil over into indiscipline.

"There have been difficult times with opposition fans but the last thing I will do is to get into the habit of making obscene gestures. It's just not like me."
