Joy and happiness pervaded the streets of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) following the victory of ex-NLC president, Adams Oshiomhole, in Edo State and United State of America president-elect, Barack Obama. Many residents of the FCT who spoke with leadership yesterday, expressed their happiness over the victory of Governor Adams Oshiomhole, and President-elect Barack Obama as the first Blackman to be elected president of the United States of America.

One of the residents, John Umeh, said: "This is a surprising news. It is the first in history for a blackman to the given a chance to govern America; what a wonderful work of God. I am happy and proud of his victory.

He added: "I am praying for him to surprise the whole world by not discriminating between black and white.

"As for Adams Oshiomhole, I am happy over his victory and may the Lord continue to give him strength and wisdom to lead his people."

Another man, Gabriel Onah, said, "I have never seen this type of favour in my life. Both Obama and Oshiomhole are God chosen. I am happy for them; may God give them the good heart to rule with the fear of God."

In the same vein, a police officer, who gave his name as Idoko Fabian, said, "I am not from Edo, Kenya or America, but as a Nigerian citizen and blackman, I am so happy at their victory (Oshiomhole and Obama). It is my joy to have a blackman in the White House.

He added: "I must congratulate Oshiomhole for his efforts, and patience. Despite the fact that he was robbed of his victory by his detractor,s justice prevailed at last.
