Enugu — The Public and Private Development Center (PPDC) in collaboration with Nigerian Film and Video Censorship Board (NFVCB), Zero Corruption Coalition (ZCC), Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), among others has concluded plans to institute the" Home Video Integrity Annual Awards (HOMEVIDA).
Making the disclosure at an interactive workshop with stakeholders in the movie Industry in Enugu yesterday, the Zonal Co-ordinator of PPDC, Chibuzo Ekwekwuo, stated that the "prizes would be endowed on ideas in respect of which specific public institutions and agencies are established".
"The HOMEVIDA will award annual prizes to home video films with creative and effective integrity messages and plots that meet set criteria for specific prizes.
" The criteria will be such as to ensure that to win, a competing film will strategically but not necessarily, directly, be promoting the ideas for which a prize endowing agency is established. In each case, guidelines must include criteria that ensure that; the story is believable, realistic, dramatic, professionally delivered and off course, entertaining", he said
He continued that the aim of the proposed project " is to mobilise a minimum of 10 cash prizes of not less than N5 million, and N 2 million for the first place and runner ups each per annum.
"Each of the prizes will be endowed for an integrity ideal, value or model that the endowing agency best wishes to portray. We are seeking specific regulatory bodies to endow specific prizes".
