A Peoples Democratic Party, PDP's stalwart in Kebbi state, Alhaji Sani Dododo has absolved Governor Alhaji Nasamu Saidu Usman Dakingari of any involvement in the removal of both the speaker and his deputy by the Kebbi State House of Assembly.
The former Speaker, Malam Umaru Mungadi, and his deputy, Malam Sani Tadurga, were impeached on Thursday night by 17 of the 23 members of the Assembly.
Alhaji Dododo told our correspondent on phone that the governor is a democrat who had outgrown any primordial sentiments to cause the removal of the speaker and his deputy.
"Our governor is not the type of person who goes about meddting in the affairs of the legislature as he is the one preaching the principle of the separation of power between the three tiers of government," he explained.
He wondered or what benefits the governor would derive from the impeachment of the two leaders?
However, reports emanating from the caliphal axis state said the two principal officers were impeached for arrogance, dual loyalty and refusal to heed the opinions of other members.
The PDP chieftain was, however, of the view that rumours of the involvement of the president's-son-in-law in the impeachment saga was coming from the enemy's camp, who only wanted to tarnish the governor's reputation.
Meanwhile, Alhaji Aminu Musa Jega and Alhaji Garba Dena have since been sworn-in as new speaker and deputy speaker, respectively.
