Nigeria: Govt Hands Over Two Power Sub-Stations to PHCN

Ilorin — The Kwara State government has handed two power sub-stations it built to the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN), in Ilorin.

The power stations, built to improve electricity supply in the state capital, are located at Adeta in Ilorin and Budo Efo in Asa local government area of the state.

Handing them over, the Commissioner for Rural Development, Alhaji AbdulGaniyu Cook Olododo, restated the commitment of the state government to ameliorating the epileptic power supply in the state.

He stressed the preparedness of the government to evacuate power from the on-going Ganmo power station project upon completion.

He noted with satisfaction that power supply in the state was improving and thanked Governor Bukola Saraki for his commitment to ensuring stable power supply across the state all the year round.

Responding on behalf of PHCN, the Technical Engineer for Baboko District, Mr. Williams Adelemoni, thanked the state government for granting their request to construct the two sub-stations to house the control panel for operating the sub-sections.

According to him, the project was the first of its kind in the federation.

"This would bring full evacuation of power from Ganmo power station and steady supply of electricity to the people of the state.
