interview
Tawana, also known as Tawana-bed-hopper or Tawanna-sum-more, has been irrevocably kicked out of the BBA3 house.
Some loved her and some hated her but I think most people simply did not understand her.
To be honest, I don't think she even understands herself.
She was certainly something of a living, walking, talking, shagging and smoking contradiction and she definitely didn't shy away from controversy either.
On the very first day of the show she announced to all that she didn't like women.
Then she exclaimed that the Bible was a just a bunch of bull.
One almost wondered if she had some sort of tact button missing.
From the outset she presented herself as a sexually confident woman, often lavishing the boys with seductive, raunchy chats.
And she wasn't all talk either.
After slipping under the covers to oblige Zambia's TK with a BJ she set her sights on 22-year-old Munya, who gave her a good ...
'bedtime story'.
The two regularly had their little sessions and when Munya tired of her neediness, she found solace in smooth talker Ricco's bed.
Natasha Uys put some difficult questions to the microbiologist turned goat farmer.
Here's what she had to say.
How do you feel today? I'm exhausted. Last night was really hectic. I was happy to see my family. All in all, it's a great relief.
How has the public response been towards you? Well, I've not really dealt with much of the public really, I have had some questions from the public, through the media but I haven't dealt with them directly yet. The media interviews have been tough but it's nothing I can't handle.
Do you regret any of your actions? No, I don't.
Why did you go from a sexual relationship with TK, to one with Munya and then Ricco? Um, I did not have a relationship with TK. What happened between us was just a momentary thing. What developed between Munya, Ricco and I was just something that happened. The whole morning I have had to deal with this question and I think I have answered it adequately enough.
How has your family reacted to your sexual exploits? My family is very supportive of me. That is not to say that they condone or endorse what I did but they understand that it was my personal choice to do what I did.
Are they finding it hard to cope with public outcry back home in Bots? Obviously. It is affecting them very negatively but we are all strong people. They realise that they have to be strong to get through this and they are taking it in their stride.
Did you use condoms with Munya and Ricco? Yes, I did. Then why did Munya have to keep reminding you to take your pills? I don't remember that happening.I read somewhere that he said that but I don't recall it.
Are you aware that the boys laughed at you behind your back? I only heard about it now.
How does that make you feel? I am cool with it if that is how they feel, if that is the way they want to play it - they are more than welcome.
Isn't that a bit of a cop-out? Doesn't it hurt to know that the guys you thought were your friends made fun of you? Used you? Disrespected you? I knew they didn't care about me. I didn't care about them either. I am not stupid. I know that Munya was just playing the game and that Ricco was just saying what he was saying to get into my bed so it doesn't really hurt me. You pursued Munya and agreed to a strictly physical relationship but later cried about the way he treated you.
Did you find that you had trouble separating sex from your emotions? Obviously an agreement is an agreement. I was not trying to change that, all I wanted was for him to be nice about it. Not treat me like a piece of meat and be so cold about it all the time. Especially when you are being intimate. Why, after realising that Munya didn't respect you and that he was passing you around like a piece of meat, did you continue to have sex with him? Why? Because I could.
Was having sex with multiple guys part of your strategy? No, going into the house I didn't intend to sleep with anyone.
Many viewers feel that you have very low self-esteem. What do you think about that? Um, I don't actually have low self-esteem. I enjoy being in difficult situations just so that I can get out of them.
That sounds like a cop-out. Do you really ENJOY being in difficult situations? If you realise, the time I went to the penthouse, the dumpster, I was thrown in the deep end. It was a sink-or-swim situation and I loved it. I enjoy challenging myself. It stimulates me.
You said you entered BBA3 to learn how to interact better with people. Do you think you have? Yeah, I do think I have, aside from the issue that everyone keeps talking about I think I have really grown as a person. I have learned to interact with people better. I have become more understanding, more accommodating of people. More willing to listen and learn because I was really a control freak. Yeah. Speaking of being a control freak. You cleaned obsessively.
Do you think you suffer from a bit of OCD? No, I just love a clean environment and I really, really enjoy cleaning.
Do you see any kind of future for you and Munya? No.
And Ricco? No I don't.
Not even as friends? As friends, yes but not more.
Some viewers have labelled you a disgrace because of your sexual exploits yet they don't judge Munya and Ricco by the same token. Do you think Africa has double standards when it comes to judging men and women? Everybody has their own opinions, hey. I think if I were male I would still be in the house but I was a woman who acted like a man and that is probably why I was voted out.
Future plans? I am going back to my farm. I want to go to business school to learn more about business and then I really want to start working with street kids. I hope to retire by the age of 35 and then maybe go into politics.
(Laughs) Politics? Yeah, what's so funny about that?
I actually think you will make a good politician! Thanks.
Will you be bringing your pet goat to the BBA3 finale? Quarantine laws, my dear. I won't be able to bring him but maybe I can bring a photo.
Stay tuned to all the action on Channel 198. The highlights package on Channel 102 every night at 20h00 and the final eviction this Sunday at 19h00.
