After our lead story yesterday on the opinion polls in these last couple of weeks to Election Day, ADM has received the following analysis from the Danquah Institute, one of the organizations quoted in the ADM story. It challenges the veracity of the NDC's "reputable" polling firm:
Opinion polls are increasingly serving as a useful guide for not only elections but for decision-makers generally. While Ghanaians must welcome the growth in surveys, especially for our political competition, we should also ensure that the pollsters respect the principles associated with it.
The kind of scrutiny by journalists given to the recent polls conducted by the Danquah Institute was most welcome and must be encouraged.
The 16th November 2008 "poll" released by a so-called Policy & Strategy Associates Inc. purportedly of London, UK with results stating the NDC's Prof. Mills was in the lead with 53.6% and Akufo-Addo 42.0% can only be charitably described as bogus.
The following are just a few of the question marks standing out after preliminary analysis undertaken by DI.
