Uganda: Kayunga Families Get New Houses

Kampala — A total of 28 families in the district have received new houses from Habitat for Humanity Uganda and Money Gram International.

The beneficiaries hail from Kangulumira, the only sub-county where Habitat operates. The houses were officially handed over to them on Thursday by Rev. Ronald Kamya during a thanksgiving ceremony at Wabukwa.

Habitat's resource development officer Collins Ssemakula said the handover marked the 300,000th house built by Habitat worldwide since its formation in 1976. During the construction of the four roomed houses, the beneficiaries contributed local materials like bricks and sand.

Habitat contributed money and Money Gram paid for cement, iron sheets and labour.
