18 November 2008

Three more people have been arrested after they were found in possession of what looked like diamonds, reliable sources say. The men were nabbed in Makoro village a few days after police arrested three people with what are suspected to be diamonds.

Those arrested in Makoro had 31 stones. Word had it that the three men apprehended in Gaborone last week with suspicious stones gave information that led to the arrests in Makoro.

Criminal Investigations Department deputy director, Matthews Maduwane, said that investigations led them to Makoro where they apprehended the three men who had the 31 stones in their possession. He said the trio is from Palapye, Lecheng and Makoro. One is aged 32 and the others are 55 and 58-years-old.
