Gusau — Zamfara State government has spent N68 million on two public address vans to boost information dissemination in the state. The Governor, Alhaji Mahmud Aliyu Shinkafi made this known while commissioning the vans in Government House Gusau.
He said the importance of information dissemination and its management could not be over- emphasized, adding that it is a necessary prerequisite in any society. In his words; "for any progress and development in any society, stakeholders must ensure adequate and proper management and dissemination of information to the people at the grassroots", stressing that it was in the realization of this goal that his administration purchased the two vans, all of Land Rover brand. He explained that the vans were highly equipped with modern facilities that would assist the information ministry to be inline with the global information dissemination trend. The governor added that a state like Zamfara required good and modern information facilities that would help in moving the state forward, noting that it was in the realization of this that the administration embarked on standardizing the state's television and radio stations.
