Nigeria: PLSG to Renovate Bokkos Cottage Hospital

The Plateau State Government says it will renovate the Bokkos Cottage hospital in the local government area to enable the global HIV Initiatives in Nigeria commence full operations in the treatment of HIV\AIDS disease in the area. This was revealed by the state's commissioner for Health, Angela Miri while inaugurating the task force team on global HIV Initiatives at the state's secretariat.

According to her, the renovation of the cottage hospital will allow full services to take off which will help the international organization to operate in curbing the disease in the area, saying that the state government is ready to take all measures to ensure that the disease is put under control.

She explained that the team is to serve as the technical coordinating mechanism to all the comprehensive family health international projects of the global initiatives in Nigeria.

Speaking earlier, the Programme Officer of the Global HIV Initiatives in Nigeria, Bauchi Zone, Hafsat Mahmud, told the commissioner that the Global HIV Inititives Bauchi Zone has provided comprehensive services to the sites in Bokkos, Langtang and Bassa since the engagement with the plateau state government " we have run training for capacity building, we have renovated the facilities and given a generator to help in the fight against the disease," She said.
