Luanda — The Republic of Vietnam intends to expand the cooperation in the fields of industry, trade, investment and agriculture.
The intention was expressed this Tuesday by the Vietnamese ambassador accredited to Angola, Nguyen Dinh, at the end of an audience with the speaker of the Angolan Parliament, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos.
According to the diplomat, Vietname wishes to expand the bilateral cooperation with Angola, apart from the usual sectors of health and education, whose ties date back to 20 years.
In the field of agriculture, he said, the government of his country has special interest to invest in rice planting, due to the abundance of water resources and fertile soils existing in Angola.
Nguyen Dinh urged the parliament to assist Vietnamese businessmen who are investing in Angola and invited the Angolan parliament speaker to visit the Asian country, with view to share experiences and strengthen the cooperation.
In another audience, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos received the Namibian ambassador accredited to Angola, Lineekela Mboti, with whom he discussed aspects relating to cooperation.
At the end of the meeting, the Namibian diplomat said that the courtesy visit served to share ideas and strategies for the straightening of the cooperation.
Lineekela Mboti also stressed that the cooperation between Angola and Namibia is based on "solidarity, spirit of comradeship and inter-help".
Still this Tuesday, the speaker of the National Assembly met with the ambassador of Sao Tome and Principe to Angola, Armindo de Brito Fernandes, who whom he analysed the state of the bilateral relation.
The Sao Tomean diplomat informed that a meeting to assess the state of cooperation between the two parliaments shall probably be held during the first quarter of 2009, in view to re-launch the parliamentary ties.
