Kigali — Rwanda's professional rookie Jean Baptist Hakizimana is hoping to blossom his bank account when he takes part in a two-day Stanbic Bank sponsored golf event at Uganda's Kitante Golf Course.

Hakizimana, who turned pro in August claimed the Rwanda Open and bagged 1,200 in the process.

After this performance, the 19-year-old golfer is eager to maintain the high tempo.

"I am just looking for a continuation of Rwanda Open," he said.

"I'm keen to get out and play, I am looking forward to the challenge.

I know it's a totally different course but luckily for me, it's one of my favourite courses," Hakizimana, who is sponsored by MTN, said.

The tournament gets underway this morning and Rwanda will have two representatives in Hakizimana and Emmanuel Ruterana. Over ten Ugandan professionals will also be in contention.
