Kigali — The first round of the national football league will end on December 13 to pave way for the U-20 team preparations ahead of the 16th African Youth Championship to be hosted in Kigali from January 18-February 1.
Ferwafa CEO Jules Kalisa said that the national youth team will relocate to Europe for a thorough training stint.
"We are working around the clock to ensure that the first round ends by mid December," said Kalisa.
The team is currently under vigorous training ahead of what is expected to be a busy December.
It is said that the team which is handled by Obradovic Tomislav will have a number of international build up games prior to the championship.
Five time record champions of the biennial championship Nigeria, Mali, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Egypt, South Africa and defending champions Congo Brazzaville are the countries in contention for the championship alongside the hosts, Rwanda.
