South Africa: Buti Sithole Still Waits on Aces

19 November 2008

Former youth international defender Buti Sithole says he is not overly concerned despite having spent the past three weeks training at Mpumalanga Black Aces without any word from the club.

Sithole is confident that that his performance at training will convince the club that he is worthy of being signed.

"I have been training with Aces for the past three weeks and I have no reason to worry because I am a free agent and can be signed and registered at any time," says Sithole.

Despite playing regularly at Maritzburg United last season Sithole was surprisingly shown the door just a week before the season started following the appointment of Gordon Igesund.

"I still had a contract with Maritzburg but after I was told a week before kick off that I was not in their plans, we agreed to a settlement. I am not stressing about happened in the past because it will not change and I am no longer a Maritzburg player," he says.

Sithole, due to turn 23 in December, started off at Kaizer Chiefs six years ago as a teenager before moving to Zulu Royals, Bidvest Wits and then Maritzburg last season after being turned down by FC AK.

A loan move to Hanover Park also fell through at the beginning of this season.
