South Africa: Kick Off Empowers Community

19 November 2008

KICK OFF magazine has united with MaAfrika Tikkun and the Smile Foundation to help those trying to get back on their feet.

As South Africa's largest-selling soccer magazine, KICK OFF, prides itself on providing readers with consistent, top-quality football coverage.

But the magazine is also committed to the well-being of all South Africans, and is always looking to provide platforms and opportunities in the football industry.

As part of this aim, vendors of the community newspaper Homeless Talk proudly display brand new, striking red bibs - the first to positively benefit from this partnership.

Roxanne Jooste, Marketing Executive for KICK OFF, says, "KICK OFF is excited about the partnership between MaAfrika Tikkun and the Smile Foundation, as it extends far beyond the vision of community involvement for three South African organisations trying to make a difference.

"In assisting Homeless Talk vendors, we are able to improve quality of life for homeless people by empowering them to be self-reliant and to contribute positively to society."

MaAfrika Tikkun is an NGO that has a holistic care model for orphans and vulnerable children in South Africa's townships. The Smile Foundation is a non-profit organisation, providing surgical intervention to make a difference and transform the lives of children suffering with facial anomalies.

KICK OFF wishes to encourage all South Africans to take responsibility and help support these vendors as they work towards a brighter, better way of living by purchasing a copy of Homeless Talk or KICK OFF magazine and helping to make a difference!
