Bauchi — About 16,000 supporters of the Action Congress (AC), in Bauchi State, led by the secretary, Alhaji Muhammad S. Wada, Administration Secretary, Ahmad Umar Ningi, and eight other executive officers have decamped to the ruling party, ANPP.

Speaking to LEADERSHIP correspondent in Bauchi after the brief ceremony, the former secretary, Alhaji Muhammada Wada, said the 16,000 supporters of AC from about 17 local government areas, had unanimously decided to decamp to the ANPP because their former party had no focus.

He pointed out that the so-called elected members of the party, from the state level to the national were not helping matters, as they only attend meetings when they had personal request requiring the support of the executives, saying that the elected members are not after the welfare of their members talk less of the progress of the party.

He said the staff of the secretariat were being owed 24 months salaries without hope of being paid, while the elected members that are supposed to be contributing about 15% of their salaries are busy attending their personal problem not minding the position of the party, hence their decision to decamp to the ANPP.

"We are young politicians that have the interest of our people to protect but these elected people are not helping matters. They keep making empty promises to the people and the electorate are busy asking us about such promises which are not forthcoming.

So, instead of us to continue wasting our time in the AC, we decided to decamp to a more matured party that is ready to assist their people considering that we have a great future ahead," he said.
