THE Frank Fredericks Foundation yesterday gave scholarships totalling N$30 000 to young athletes who performed well this year.
The Chairman of the Foundation, Frank Fredericks, explained that the top seven were chosen after they performed well in the Coca-Cola Frank Fredericks Athletics Invitational, which took place in April this year.
The Foundation handed out N$30 000 to the top athletes of which N$25 000 was sponsored by Coca-Cola, while the rest came from the foundation.
The top seven athletes include Keisha Kalomo for the 100m sprint, Gregory Araseb for the long jump, Hardus Maritz for the 110m hurdles and Pejavi Muhenje for the 400m sprint, who each received N$3 000.
Merilyn Diamond (100m and 200m), Dantago Gurirab (100m and 200m) and Evelyn Kangala (200m and 400m) each received N$6 000 because they have done exceptionally well.
