Eritrea: NCEW Holds Meeting On Assessing Bilateral Cooperation With the Italian Trade Union

Asmara — The National Confederation of Eritrean Workers (NCEW) held a meeting on November 18 here in the capital to assess bilateral cooperation with the Italian Trade Union.

In the meeting in which representatives of a number of ministries, workers unions and invited guests took part, the deputy Secretary General of NCEW and head of external relations, Mr. Tsegai Mogos, pointed out that the cooperation between the NCEW and the Italian Trade Union has borne fruitful outcome. As a result the Confederation has organized two successful international conferences, he added.

Mr. Estifano who attended the meeting representing the Italian Trade Union, indicated on his part that there exists close relations between the two organizations and stated that he would work diligently to further enhance it.

Also in the meeting, representatives of the Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare and others gave briefings to the participants regarding the Eritrean Labour Proclamation.

The Chairman of NCEW, Mr. Tekeste Baire, stressed the significance of the meeting in exchanging experience and expressed appreciation to the Italian Trade Union for fostering bilateral cooperation. He also indicated that the efforts being made by Eritrean workers to ensure economic development on the basis of the principle of self-reliance are registering fruitful outcome.
