A die hard fan of Enyimba, Ozoma Donald Egemba, also known as Dero has pleaded for leniency on behalf of the club.
Dero, is a member of the Port Harcourt branch of Enyimba's supporter's club and he says the Nigeria Premier League Disciplinary committee must forgive Enyimba for their wrongs in the league.
Fans of Enyimba two weeks ago descended on referees in a league match against Heartland and were banished indefinitely to Ilorin.
"On behalf of the Port Harcourt branch of Enyimba supporters club, I am using this opportunity to appeal to the people in charge of our football administration to have pity on our darling team," Egemba said.
"As far as the supporters club are concerned, we are not responsible for the act even our national president, Ogbonnaya Agwu and Chairman of the club Felix Anyansi Agwu tried their possible best to stop the ugly incident but they couldn't avert it.
"If you can recall this is the first time our followers are going on rampage and we admit that we took the laws into our hands pouncing on the referee but they should forgive us as first offenders.
"Even television footages showed chairman trying to protect the match referees but he was over powered by the miscreants," Egemba pleaded.
He also urged members of the Nigeria Referees Association, NRA to forgive and forget the horrible incident.
"The banishment is enough punishment to us, because I know how every body including me are feeling the impact of not watching Enyimba play in Aba. We have learned our lesson and promise it will never happen again."
Enyimba lost at their new home 2-0 to Bayelsa United just last Sunday.
