As part of his resolve to redress the rot in the education sector, Governor Rotimi Amaechi has said that new primary schools to be built by his administration would be fully equipped with internet facilities.

The governor explained at the town hall meeting with the people of the area that the schools would also have modern libraries and modern aids for improved learning and teaching.
The governor who decried the poor state of education in the state, especially at the primary school level, said the situation was responsible for the state governments' declaration of state of emergence in the education sector, and the subsequent take over of primary education from the local government councils.
He explained that each of the primary schools would have 12 classrooms and modern facilities that would create a conducive learning atmosphere for the children.
The children would enjoy free education, including free books and uniforms, while the building of health centre projects have also commenced in various parts of the state.
On the absence of electricity in the area, Governor Amaechi assured them that government has taken measures to rectify it and blamed the people for allowing hoodlums to vandalize the facilities in their community before now, assuring that efforts were being made to reconnect to the national grid pending the completion of work on the Eleme Gas turbine expansion project.
Amaechi directed the Commissioner for Power, to liaise with Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) to find out the best area to hook the Ogoni axis to the National grid, noting that considering the amount of power generated from the Afam Power Station, it may be better to connect the area to the Oginiba sub-station.
