Kigali — DRAWS for this year's Cecafa Challenge Cup set for December 31-February 15 are set to be made today in Kampala, Uganda.

Cecafa Challenge Cup local organizing committee boss, Jowali Kyeyago told Times Sport yesterday that the draws will be held at Uganda's Fufa house.

"After the meeting we had on Tuesday, it was decided that the draws for this year's Challenge Cup tournament be made tomorrow (today)," Kyeyago said, adding the fixtures will be announced immediately by Cecafa and GTV.

The meeting held by Cecafa and the local Organizing committee was aimed at discussing all the modalities with sponsors, GTV and how best the tournament can run successfully.

GTV will broadcast live most of the matches.

Cecafa and the local organizing committee cleared Bugembe Stadium in Jinja to host matches of the East and Central Africa soccer competition after yesterday's final inspection, according to Kyeyago.

Bugembe was added to Nakivubo and Namboole as the third stadium to host the regional competition. The tournament sponsors, Gateway Television will sink in this year's event up to $500 000.

Total prize money is $60,000 with the winners collecting $30,000, runners-up $20,000 and the third-placed team $10,000.

The money will cater for the air tickets, accommodation, prizes and other logistics for the 11-member.

The regional tournament is set to attract teams from Kenya, Zanzibar, Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania, Sudan, Eritrea, Djibouti, Somalia and Uganda.
