Degistration for the 2nd Glo-Lagos International Half Marathon will commence across the country on Monday, November 24, 2008.
According to a statement from the Local Organising Committee (LOC), of the Glo-Lagos International Half Marathon, registration forms for participation in the Marathon can be obtained from over 40 Glo world shops across the country as well as Sport Council offices in every state of the federation including on-line at www.glolagosmarathon.com.

The Marathon proper, which comes up on February 21 2008 is a 21.098km race with participants expected to run from Inner Marina on Lagos Island to the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
The race is open to professionals, amateurs and all who wish to run as a means of sustaining sound health with the theme "Run for The Heart", which according to the statement, enjoins every participant to run not only for the prizes at stake, but also as a means of prolonging the health of the heart.
To this end, Globacom has raised the stakes in this edition of the marathon by introducing cars and monetary prizes for the first six Nigerian finishers of the marathon. The Telecom giant said it introduced the prizes to encourage Nigerian elite athletes who might not stand a chance of winning the star prizes against the international elite athletes and world champions who have already signified their intention to participate in the race.
The first Nigerian male and female winners will go home with a brand new Kia Picanto car each while the second set of Nigerians to finish the race in the male and female categories will get N1m each. Globacom will also cap the special provision for the Nigerian runners with N750,000 each for the third set of Nigerians in the male & female categories to finish the race.
The overall winners of the race (male and female) will receive $50,000 each. The first runners-up in the male and female categories will get $25,000 each while the second runners-up in the male & female categories will cart home $15,000 each. In addition, the third runners-up in the male & female categories will win $10,000 each while the 4th runners-up in the male & female categories will win $5,000 each.
