Administrative Secretary of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Abu Bakar Kabba aka Sweet Kay has refuted reports that he was to account for US$15,000 from the U-20 trip to Malaysia.
On Monday, an insider from the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) alleged that Sweet Kay received US $ 45,000 from the competition organizers but he only gave report of US $30,000.
Speaking to Concord Sports yesterday, Sweet Kay said:" We were only given US$ 30,000 from the agent, Wilson Raj. That was the amount I made my report on; at no point did I receive US $ 45,000."
"I even submitted my report to the general secretary, and copied the various committees and the money was handed over a week after we returned from Malaysia," Sweet Kay said.
He further revealed that the US$ 800 given to the players was a unanimous decision taken by the SLFA executive.
"The players received US$500 on their arrival in Malaysia and the remaining US$300 on their arrival in Nigeria," Sweet Kay confirmed.
He also said the agent; Wilson Raj always informed the entire delegation whenever he wanted to make payment towards the team, adding that he even gave the two sets vest, bib and air tickets in the presence of all of us.
