Angola: MP Defends Professionalisation of Sport in Country

Luanda — MP Gustavo da Conceiço said Wednesday in Luanda that there is a need for major investment in training programmes for younger categories and professionalisation of sports in Angola, as important factors for the development of this area.

Speaking to ANGOP, the official, who is member of the National Assembly's 6th Commission that deals with sports matters, guaranteed that as an MP he will fight for the defence of the interest of citizens and sports people.

"We must not forget that for us to have developed sports we have to increase the investment in basic instruction schools, coupled with training of teachers and instructors at all levels, which will enable us to professionalise all the sports areas (...)", he said.

Gustavo da Conceiço, who is also the chairman of the Angolan Olympic Committee (COA), the mentioned premises will only have the desired results with an appropriate sports legislation.
