Angola: Fernando Alvim Suggests More International Exhibition Halls

20 November 2008

Luanda — Angolan plastic artist Fernando Alvim on Wednesday here said that the Natural History Museum has been hosting a high number of exhibitions of quality, but lately it no longer has conditions to respond to the requests for expositions in that venue.

Fernando Alvim, who is also deputy chairman of the Sindika Dokolo Foundation, said to ANGOP that in face of this reality, Angola has to engage in opening more exhibition halls, apart from the already ongoing construction of the future Contemporary Arts Museum set to finish in 2010.

The artist believes that after the conclusion of the Contemporary Art Museum, other spaces of quality will come up, including that of the Sindika Dokolo Foundation.

The Sindika Dokolo organisation intends to build its private hall by 2012, the artist revealed.
