The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Her Excellency, Madam Olubanke King-Akerele, has paid special tribute to President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf for the appointment of Ambassador Conmany B. Wesseh, as Liberia's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and Permanent Representative to the United Nations.
Minister King-Akerele expressed optimism that Ambassador Wesseh will ably represent Liberia to the United Nations, and prayed that Almighty God will grant him wisdom as he takes up his new assignment at the U.N. Headquarters in New York shortly.
Minister King-Akerele spoke recently during an appreciation program held by staff of the Bureau of International Cooperation and Economic Integration in honor of Ambassador Wesseh, who previously served as Deputy Foreign Minister for International Cooperation and Economic Integration. She praised the honouree for his preferment, noting that the new assignment will lead him to future opportunities.
The brief ceremony was attended by several senior officials of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and State for Presidential Affairs respectively including Foreign Minister Olubanke King-Akerele, the Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, Edwin McClain; Cabinet Director and wife of the honouree, Madam Madina Wesseh; Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, William V.S. Bull; Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal Affairs, Krubo Kollie, and Deputy Foreign Minister for Administration, Johnson Gwaikolo, among others.
