Out-going Deputy Foreign Minister for International Cooperation and Economic Integration and Liberia's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, and Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Conmany B. Wesseh, has called on junior Ministers and employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to work closely with Foreign Minister, Olubanke King-Akerele, in her vision to chart a new Foreign Policy for Liberia.
Ambassador Wesseh made the call Friday during remarks at an appreciation reception held in his honor by staff and employees of the Bureau of International Cooperation and Economic Integration for his invaluable services to the Bureau and the Foreign Ministry.
Ambassador Wesseh expressed deep appreciation to the Foreign Ministry family, particularly staff of the Bureau of International Cooperation and Economic Integration for the honor bestowed upon him, and promised to use his expertise acquired from the Ministry in furtherance of his new post at the United Nations.
Earlier, Foreign Minister Olubanke King-Akerele expressed gratitude to the out-going Minister for his dedication to the Ministry and extolled him for his preferment by the President.
She then expressed confidence that out-going Minister Wesseh will represent Liberia fully at the United Nations.
The ceremony was attended by senior officials of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and State for Presidential Affairs respectively including Foreign Minister Olubanke King-Akerele, the Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, Edward McClain, Cabinet Director and wife of the honoree, Madam Medina Wesseh, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, William V.S. Bull; Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal Affairs, Krubo Kollie, and Deputy Foreign Minister for Administration, Johnson Gwaikolo.
Others present at the ceremony include Ambassador George W. Wallace, Jr., Advisor to the President on Foreign Affairs; Assistant Foreign Minister for International Organizations, J. Alphonso Nimene; Assistant Foreign Minister for International Cooperation and Economic Affairs, Elias Shoniyin; and Assistant Foreign Minister for Foreign Affairs, Robert Lormia.
