Monrovia — A senior officer assigned with the United States/African military command, AFRICOM, based in Germany has given a positive view of the Liberia's security sector.
Brigadier-General Tracey Garrett, responsible for marines and marine activities in Africa and Europe said she was happy to see first-hand progress taking place in the country especially the security sector reform.
Speaking Tuesday during a meeting with President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf at the Foreign Ministry, Brigadier General Garrett spoke positively of the security sector exercise and the possibility that lessons could be learned and applied to other countries 'without reinventing the wheels.'
She praised the Liberian leader for her performance and hoped that she would continue.
Earlier, welcoming the United States Army General, President Johnson Sirleaf expressed the hope that her visit and interaction with Liberians will help encourage more females to join the Liberian security forces, particularly the military.
According to an Executive Mansion release, the President spoke highly of the strong partnership between the U.S. Defense Department and the Liberian government in the security sector reform of the country.
She pointed out that Liberia's defence department looks forward to further collaboration with the US military.
The senior U.S. military official was accompanied to the Foreign Ministry by U.S. Ambassador to Liberia, Linda Thomas-Greenfield.

Sirleaf administration is a puppet of the USA.
The intelligence of the Yankies has not revealed the soupist inclinations of the Sirleaf. How sad, and incompetent!
