Uganda: Museveni to Get Military Sports Award

Kampala — WORLD Military sports governing body CISM will bestow upon President Yoweri Museveni the award of Grand Cordon for his role in supporting sports development in Africa.

The Grand Cordon is the top international military sports award. Former international soccer stars Polly Ouma and Paul Ssali will also be honoured for the their contribution in sports development.

Organisation for Africa Military Sports (OSMA) secretary general Lt. Col. Abdullahi Maikoma made the announcement yesterday.

The Nigerian military officer is in Kampala to assess the 7th Africa Military Football Cup (CAMFOOT) facilities. Uganda hosts the tournament from December 1.

Cameroon are the defending champions of the two-week tournamen. It will be held at Mandela and Nakivubo stadiums.
