Ondjiva — Migration and Foreigners Service (SME) recorded during the last seven days, in the southern Cunene Province, the entrance and exit of 5,999 national and foreign citizens, 300 less compared to the previous week, according to a weekly report which has reached ANGOP.
The document of the institution, which was released last Wednesday, explains that the citizens got to this province through the border post of the localities of Santa-Clara, Calueque and Ruacana.
From this migration movement, it includes 1,757 foreign citizens, among them 580 tourists, 15 expatriates and six of them are residents. The biggest figure goes to the Namibian community, followed by the communities of South Africa, Portugal, Zimbabwe, Brazil, China, Cuba and United States of America.
In the framework of the infringements, the weekly report shows that during this period, four foreign citizens were intercepted by the inspecting brigade of Namacunde and Ombandja districts for breaking the immigration law.
Six foreign citizens were also detained for infringing the law and in the same ambit nine foreign citizens were expelled from the country, under the law number 2/07 of 31 August, article 101.
