Lagos — Defending Africa Women Club champions, Desportivo of Mozambique, by the looks of the draws made at the Kenya National Sports Council boardroom on Wednesday night may have been given a chance to successfully defend their crown. But this could not be said of the fortunes of the Nigeria's representatives, First Bank Elephants, who were placed in a group that analysts have referred to as the 'Group of Death'.

First Bank (Nigeria), last year's runners up Primero de Agosto (Angola), ABC (Cote d'Ivoire) and Djoliba (Mali) together with Radi of (DR Congo) and Eagle Wings (Kenya) were drawn in tougher Pool A dubbed the group of death compared to the other pool.

The Mozambicans (Despotivo) were drawn in Pool B against CSA (Cote d'Ivoire), KCC (Uganda), APR (Rwanda), V-Club (DR Congo) and Kenya Ports Authority (Kenya).

The draws were led by FIBA Africa member Madame Salamatou Maiga and attended by all but one participating team that had not arrived by the time it was being conducted according to FIBA.COM.

Kenyan sides KPA and Eagle Wings will have to fight hard not to let their enthusiastic fans down.
