The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA, says it has concluded preparation to make the Abuja Carnival festival a memorable and befitting occasion.
The Secretary, FCT's Social Development Secretariat, Felicia Olajide, disclosed this during a tour to inspect facilities at the venues that events will be staged for the carnival.
Felicia noted that the carnival which will last till November 23 will be flagged open at the Eagle Square accompanied by a Durbar and a boat regatta at the Jabi lake Park.
According to her, the boat regatta will be on Saturday, where most of the riverine states of Nigeria will participate and Egypt will also grace the event.
She said the organisers are ready in terms of medical facilities and accommodation, stating that both the residents as well as guests will be made comfortable.
"We estimated about 15, 000 people and expect an increase because the festival will attract lots of people," she said.
The Technical Director for Abuja Carnival, Duro Oni, also explained that some states have arrived and are working on their floats.
'Egypt has also arrived and the children's float is in progress," he said.
