South Africa: Modubi, Ntuka at Chelsea in January

Bafana Bafana and KC Westerlo defender Masilo Modubi remains confident that his dream of playing in England will soon be a reality.

Modubi and another Belgium-based defender, Jeffrey Ntuka are set to join Chelsea for training in January after they were granted Belgian passports this year which allows them to play in the English Premiership.

Both players are already on the books of Chelsea, but were loaned to Belgian First Division side, KC Westerlo.

Speaking to KickOff.com, Modubi said he was ready to do everything in his power to impress Chelsea coach Phil Scolari when he joins the Stamford Bridge outfit for training during the first week of January next year.

"I am excited and looking forward to the opportunity of joining Chelsea for training. I believe all the arrangements have been made and that we will start training with them on January 3rd, next year."

The Polokwane-born defender has been called by coach Joel Santana for Bafana's last two friendly games, against Ghana and Cameroon, and even though he did not play he says the call-ups have given him motivation and encouragement.

"I haven't had the chance to play but to be recognised by the technical team means a lot to me.

"I just hope they continue to happen so that when I get my chance, I will grab it with both hands."
