Abuja — National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), in collaboration with Development Partners, has announced arrangements for a nationwide integrated measles campaign (IMC).
The exercise will cover more than 25 million children in the 36 states of the federation.
According to a statement on Thursday in Abuja by Sa'adu Salahu, Head of Public Relations unit of the agency, the campaign will take place in the northern states from November 26 to 30, and in the southern states from December 10 to 14.
Having just concluded their mop-up operations, Kwara and Kogi states are also scheduled for December 10 to 14 in order for them to participate in the IMC programme.
NPHCDA equally disclosed that during the exercise, an estimated 30 million Nigerian children will be immunised against polio and 27 million children will receive vitamin 'A' supplementation.
Under-five years old children are target of the integrated measles campaign throughout the country.
Over 150,000 health workers and monitors have already been deployed nation-wide to ensure the success of the exercise.
