RHIANA Potgieter, Businesswoman of the Year 2007/2008 and owner of Shadonai Beauty College, says: "Make it your business to donate!" Potgieter has been hosting several blood donation clinics with the Blood Transfusion Service this week, attracting over 75 donors by yesterday afternoon.
The Service is experiencing extremely low stock levels of Blood Group O and has launched an emergency appeal to the public to donate blood.
Each year, the service is charged with collecting 18 000 units of blood, and it relies on regular blood donors to reach this target.
The entire process of donating blood only takes about 30 minutes.
Today marks the end of Potgieter's donation clinic, and members of the public are urged to go and donate blood at Maerua Mall from 09h00 to 15h30, or on any day at the Blood Transfusion Service.
