Police officer of Kent village has disclosed that the present condition of the police post at Kent village was deplorable.
Sergeant Emmanuel Sankoh told Concord Times Sunday at Kent that the police post lacks light facility and at the same time, the police post deserves water and toilet facility.
Sankoh said he has made several complains to the police authority about the deplorable situation of the post but no positive respond as of now.
He said the generator for the post doesn't have fuel. "During the night the post would be dark throughout," Sankoh said, adding that it was hard for them to perform their duties in the dark.
He said he has been working in the community for over four years and the post was still in the same condition.
"We are working hard to secure the area," he said adding that "our major problem is logistics. If we have them we will work more."
A resident of the community Daniel Conteh said the police officers in the community are currently few. "There are only three police officers that cover three the villages-Bureh town, Kent village and Banana Island. I brought a case one night but one of the police officer was sick and only one was on duty so he could not move out of the post as he was alone on duty," Conteh said.
Head of police media, Inspector Ibrahim Samura said the police are making frantic effort to ensure that all police stations are supported.
"We are still in the process of improving them," he said.
