Kuito — The 14 candidates to the 2009 edition of the Miss Bié Province, visited last Thursday the facilities of the Angola Press Agency (ANGOP), aimed at learning about its functioning.

The delegate of ANGOP in this province, Manuel Gonçalves, explained the candidates about the collection, treatment and release of news, as well as the advances achieved by ANGOP, with the acquisition of modern equipment of telecommunications such as internet, satellite telephones, cars and other indispensable support means for the journalistic profession.

The official informed candidates that ANGOP is also committed to training its staff, aiming at achieving the targets and investments carried out for an excellent performance of the activity to educate and inform society.

The chairman of the organising commission of Miss Bié ommittee, Domingos 'scar, said that everything is guaranteed to elect next Saturday the most beautiful woman of the central Bié Province.

According to Domingos 'scar, the event will be held in the Victoria Atlético Club Centre , in Kuito City, adding that various musicians have been invited and highlight goes to the renowned singer Konde.

The 14 candidates are between the ages of 18 to 21 and they were all born in Bié Province.

The official stressed that the winner will represent the province in the Miss Angola competition, to be held in Luanda, in December.
