Angola: Territory's Economic, Social Organisation Should Be Seen in It Context

Luanda — The Angolan deputy minister of elecommunications and Information Technologies, Pedro Teta, said last Thursday in Luanda that it is indispensable to rethink the economic and social organisation of the national territory in the context of the Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs).

The official made this statement when he was presenting the theme "The role of ICTs in the urban management planning", at the 12th technical and scientific event of the Eduardo dos Santos Foundation (FESA).

According to the government official, it is urgent that existing instruments function as a true network, capable of encouraging and consolidating relations and articulations with policies and programmes of the sector.

In this context, it is necessary to define clear and integrating solutions of operational relations processes, in order to outline the role of ICTs in the planning and management of the urban networks.

Angola should start identifying the provinces that present scarcity or even absence of ICTs infrastructural resources, so as to activate all these points for the progress and access to other cities.

Currently, the government and non government actions can also be moved by ICTs that provide public administration to citizens and to the companies not only in the process of planning and management of the urban networks, but also in all socio-economic participation.
