Angola: Education Minister Inaugurates Teachers Training School

Benguela — The Angolan education minister, António Burity da silva inaugurated at Mina ward a school for teachers training with the capacity of receiving 220 students, which belongs to the Norwegian non government organisation human people to people (ADPP).

The school was rebuilt with funds from the Dutch Human Foundation and it is a partnership with the Angolan Ministry of Education and ADPP.

The institution comprises eight classrooms for 35 students each and 40 bedrooms and it has the capacity of receiving 160 students in internship system.

The centre also counts on a residential area for teachers, a library, a computing room, refectory, nursing and consultation rooms and sports ground are among other compartments of the school that functions with 99 employees in general, among them 14 workers are Angolan and foreign teachers.

The education minister, António Burity da Silva, praised the contribution of ADPP and said that he is satisfied that with the level of the existing cooperation between his department and the referred school, having into account that it has been using techniques and methods which are very advanced.

The ceremony that was inserted in the framework of the National Teachers Day, marked on November 22, counted on the presence of the Education deputy minister for technical and professional education, Narciso Benedito dos Santos, the provincial governor of Benguela, Armando da Cruz Neto, among other entities.
