Angola: Education Minister Urges for Teachers Professional Upgrading

Benguela — Angolan Education minister, António Burity da Silva, Saturday in Luanda, urged for the academic and professional upgrading of teachers, with a view to the improvement of the quality of education and development of the country.

António Burity da Silva, who was speaking on the occasion of the main event of the celebration of the Teachers Day, November 22, said the education system in the country has been improving considerably, with the rise in the number of children and adults at school and education institutions.

The minister also spoke of the need for a high quality training of personnel, or nationals will be left behind to the advantage of others with better qualifications.

According to the minister, the world is changing and there is need for the teachers to train the students appropriately from the technical point of view.

Meanwhile, Benguela province governor, Armando da Cruz Neto, said one of the priorities of his office is the inclusion of 288 children and youths in the education system and the construction and rehabilitation of new schools.
