Luanda — Angolan Government spent about 60 percent of the global public investment expenditures, an amount estimated at about Akz 560 billion, in the repair of various socio-economic infrastructures in the country in 2007, Angop learned.
The information was released Friday in Luanda by the Planning minister, Ana Dias Lourenço, during the closing of the 12nd events of the Eduardo dos Santos Foundation (FESA), that went from November 18, under the motto "Cities: training, planning, management and urban networks".
Among the tasks carried out, the minister spoke of the mapping and demarcation of communitarian lands, rehabilitation of residential areas, construction of garbage processing systems and damps, urbanisation and expansion of urban areas plans and other activities.
She said all these effort is part of the active policy of integration of the national market, taking into account the values of cohesion, efficiency, territorial competitiveness and sustainability.
She also mentioned as target the emergence of an integrate urban network including cities capable of offering a high living standard and balanced development of the country.
The minister considered that another purpose of the Government is to lessen existing imbalances, secure the balanced and harmonious development of the country and offer all citizens equal opportunities, regardless of their place of residence.
For four days, national and foreign specialists spoke of training, planning, city management, territorial management instruments, Angola's urban development, housing foment policies and urban growth and use of clean energy sources.
The event was attended by more than 500 people, among teachers, students, government officials and guests.
